Host a Group Activity

Turn giving into a meaningful, hands-on experience! Individuals, families, schools, and corporate or faith-based groups can assemble and donate complete kits or meals to support SouthLight clients.

How Hosting a Group Activity at SouthLight  it works:

  1. Gather your group and collect supplies at the location of your choice
  2. Assemble the items (we’ll provide packing tips and checklists!)
  3. Drop them off at SouthLight’s Raleigh Hub—or we’ll arrange pickup

What You Can Prepare:

Hygiene Kits

Travel-size soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.

Snack Packs

Shelf-stable snacks like granola bars, pudding, bottled water, etc.

Brown Bag Lunch

Sandwich, snack, and bottled water, packed in a lunch bag

Please note: We ask that all donations be assembled as complete kits or meals—not individual items.

Volunteer Requirements

  • SouthLight Volunteers must be 18 or older, though exceptions can be made for group activities. Contact us to learn more.
  • Some individual volunteer opportunities, like outreach events, will require an orientation and training. Depending on the activities, group activities may not require formal training.
  • To ensure safety and consistency, all volunteer activities should follow SouthLight’s volunteer guidelines—including approved supply lists, food safety practices, and packing protocols with staff coordination as needed.
