Dawn MacLaren is an executive level business leader with more than twenty years of success spanning global team leadership and senior management consulting. She is currently the Chief People Officer and Acting COO for Vertical Relevance, a boutique consulting firm with deep expertise in financial services, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and ServiceNow.

Her 20+ year career includes executive-facing roles within, or consulting to, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, MetLife, Citi, Advance Auto, and others. At the same time, Dawn’s previous roles include Partner with a privately held professional services firm from start-up through acquisition, Acting Chief Operating Officer for a privately held educational software company, and Managing Director Business Planning for a proprietary medical device company. Though her roles have varied, the consistent thread is a steadfast commitment to integrity, partnership, collaboration, and results that serve both long- and near-term objectives.

Dawn is thrilled to be joining the Board of Directors of SouthLight Healthcare. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Eastern North Carolina (including 4 years as the Chair of the Governance Committee) and on the Board of Trustees of the North Carolina Symphony as Co-Chair of the Digital Reach Committee. Prior roles include Chair of the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Triangle NC, Executive Board and Chair of the Finance Committee for ATHENA International, President Dartmouth Alumni Association, President Families with Children from China – Tampa Bay, and mentor for the Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy.

She remains a proud supporter of organizations focused on elevating under-served communities through programs for social and economic empowerment.
