Recovery Month Celebration 2025 Brings Connection, Support, and Smiles 

As part of National Recovery Month, SouthLight held its fourth annual Recovery Month Celebration, our largest and most successful yet. Held at the SouthLight Raleigh Hub, the event brought together over 600 clients, staff, and community partners for a day of connection, support, and celebration that recovery is possible. 

Under sunny, cool skies, more than 20 community partners attended to share essentials including eye exams, flu shots, toiletries, clothing, transportation, food vouchers, harm reduction kits, recovery housing resources, and more. Attendees were also treated to hot dog lunches and free live-printed t-shirts featuring designs inspired by the SouthLight community. And returning this year was the Wake Tech School of Barbering, providing free haircuts, a popular highlight of the event. 

More than just fun, the event is designed to link those receiving mental health and substance use services at SouthLight with essential community resources, offering a one-stop opportunity to access critical supplies and learn about local programs. In addition, SouthLight staff were on-site to assist with Medicaid and disability applications, Tailored Care Management, Peer Support and more, ensuring our clients have continued support beyond the event.

With record attendance, expanded community partnerships, strong sponsorship support, and meaningful client engagement, the event reinforced SouthLight’s role as a leader in supporting recovery and community connection.
