SouthLight Celebrates Grand Reopening of Renovated Raleigh Hub
Newly renovated outpatient treatment center enhances mental health & addiction services for Wake County and beyond.
On April 13, SouthLight held the Grand Reopening celebration at our newly renovated Raleigh Hub on Garner Road. On this bright spring afternoon, we welcomed over 400 guests, including community supporters, local partners, elected officials, as well as SouthLight staff and their families.
The celebration featured guided tours of the redesigned 18,360-square-foot outpatient treatment facility, activities for children, live t-shirt printing, refreshments, and a special dedication ceremony honoring the progress and future of behavioral healthcare access in the greater Wake County, NC community.
Community Leaders Applaud SouthLight’s Vision
Speakers at the dedication included SouthLight CEO Adam Hartzell, former board member and longtime supporter John Crumpler, Raleigh Mayor Janet Cowell, Wake County Sheriff Willie Rowe, and SouthLight Chief Programs Officer Jennifer Whitfield.
“Today marks a significant milestone in our mission to provide compassionate, quality mental health and substance use treatment to individuals and families across the region,” said Hartzell. “This renovation is more than a physical transformation. It reflects our unwavering commitment to treating every person with dignity, compassion, and excellence. We’re not just increasing our capacity but strengthening the care we deliver every day, creating an environment where healing happens, and futures are restored.”
John Crumpler highlighted the importance of SouthLight’s $3.5 million Capital Campaign, saying, “The Hub is an example of what is possible when a community comes together.”
Mayor Cowell emphasized the impact: “It’s incredible to see the 5,500 people served by SouthLight and the importance of having a central hub. This is a powerful reminder that we must continue working together to make services available for people who need it.”
Sheriff Rowe added, “SouthLight delivers humane, professional, and compassionate care—even inside our jails—serving inmates suffering from drug addiction and mental health. That’s what it’s all about: letting people know they matter.”
